Each contender seat draws a character who isn't in the tournament yet, and the semi-finalist, the finalist and the champion are drawn first. The forms of a character count as one, so a bracket never has two Gohans (Ultimate Gohan included) or two Super Buus. Majin Vegeta counts as a different character from Vegeta, and Majin Buu, Evil Buu, Super Buu, Kid Buu and Mini Buu are all different characters. Goku's Buu Saga forms are in the pool too, but the finalist (Goku as a Super Saiyan, with his halo) takes his place first, so Goku is never drawn as a contender.

The Otherworld Tournament is the hardest tournament, a five-star bracket held on the tournament clouds above the Otherworld. After a bracket of Buu Saga fighters you face Pikkon in the semi-final, Goku (Super Saiyan, with his halo) in the final and Gogeta (Super Saiyan) in the title match. Bouts end at knockout, so nobody dies.

Getting there

The tournament grounds sit on the upper cloud deck of the Otherworld, around Y 271, with the ring centre at 0, 355, −1200. To get there, talk to the Grand Kai next to King Yemma in the cloud realm and press Tournament. The Otherworld Tournament Announcer hosts the tournament on the grounds and can send you back to the Grand Kai. /dmzlocate otherworld_tournament, run inside the Otherworld, gives you the ring's coordinates.

The grounds are built automatically the first time the server runs with the Otherworld enabled. Until they are finished, the Grand Kai tells you how far along they are. When the Otherworld system is switched off, the grounds aren't built. Like every tournament arena, the grounds can't be built in or broken by survival players (see arena protection).

Format

This tournament is a bracket of 8 seats filled with random contenders. Winners climb the ladder, and fights between two NPCs are decided automatically. After the qualifier rounds, the survivor faces the semi-finalist, then the finalist and finally the champion. Only those three are known before you enter; the rest of the draw is revealed once everybody accepts the rules.

With a party, each member has their own seat; if the draw puts two members against each other, they fight a PvP bout. Each bout lasts up to 8 minutes; a bout that runs out of time is void and fought again. The general rules for entering and bouts are on Tournaments.

Fighters

The contenders are drawn from the Buu Saga cast: Vegeta (including Majin Vegeta), Gohan (including Ultimate Gohan), Goten, Kid Trunks, Gotenks, Shin, Kibito, Videl, Mr. Satan, Spopovich, Pui Pui, Yakon, Dabura, Babidi, Majin Buu, Evil Buu, Super Buu, Kid Buu, Mini Buu and Vegetto. By default they have between 238,000 and 612,500 health, 9,900 to 25,800 melee damage and 8,840 to 23,460 ki damage, fight on the Smart or Elite AI tier, and get 8% stronger for every round already played.

Goku's Buu Saga forms are in the pool too, but the finalist (Goku as a Super Saiyan, with his halo) takes his place first, so Goku is never drawn as a contender. Bulma is in the Buu Saga tag too, but she is a non-fighter and is never drawn.

Stage Fighter Health / melee / ki AI tier
Semi-finalist Pikkon 805,000 / 33,600 / 30,600 Elite
Finalist Goku (Super Saiyan, with his halo) 900,000 / 37,800 / 34,200 Elite
Champion Gogeta (Super Saiyan) 1,330,000 / 55,800 / 50,700 Expert

Rewards

Beating Gogeta wins 3,000,000 TP and +10 alignment, with fireworks and the victory music. Losing a bout, withdrawing or being disqualified puts you on a 90-minute cooldown before you can enter again; winning starts the same cooldown.

In the story

The Movies Saga has its own Otherworld Tournament quest after Buu Saga quest 34, where you defeat Pikkon.
