Gravity
Gravity weighs on every fighter in DragonMineZ. Each dimension has its own gravity, and a Gravity Device can raise it further inside a sealed room. Higher gravity makes you train faster, but it also weakens and slows you. Combined with Weights, it is the core of the fastest training setups.
All numbers on this page are server defaults.
Where gravity comes from
Your raw gravity is built like this:
- The base is the highest of: the gravity of your dimension, the gravity of a protected region (with WorldGuard, the
dmz-gravityregion flag) and the gravity near King Kai (10× within 100 blocks of a King Kai NPC). - While you stand inside the room of an active Gravity Device, the device's gravity is added on top (a device set to 50× adds 49).
| Dimension | Gravity |
|---|---|
| Earth | ×1 |
| The Nether | ×8 |
| The End | ×20 |
| Hyperbolic Time Chamber | ×10 |
| Otherworld | ×1 |
| Namek | ×1 |
| Any other dimension | ×1 |
Net gravity
Your raw gravity is then reduced by your stats to get your net gravity. If raw gravity is 1 or less, net gravity is 0. Your stats only cancel a noticeable amount of gravity at very high levels.
Net gravity is what drives everything below.
What gravity does
Training bonuses
- +2.5% TP per point of net gravity.
- +0.25% form mastery per point of net gravity.
- Gravity also amplifies the weight you wear, pushing you into higher training zones (see Weights).
In the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the chamber's own gravity doesn't count for the TP bonus, because the chamber has its own TP multiplier. A Gravity Device placed inside still counts.
Penalties
| Penalty | How it grows | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Stat reduction (Strength, Strike Power, Ki Power, Defense, Stamina) | 1% per point of net gravity | 90% |
| Movement speed | Grows with net gravity, faster at first | 95% |
| Attack speed | Grows with net gravity, faster at first | 90% |
| Jump height | Grows with net gravity, faster at first | 95% |
| Flight speed | Grows with net gravity, faster at first | 95%, then flight stops entirely at 75 net gravity |
| Extra fall damage | +2% per point of net gravity | +60% |
| Stamina cost of attacks | +4% per point of net gravity | — |
The hard stop
At 75 net gravity or more, flight is fully disabled, jumping takes the maximum penalty, and the gravity TP and mastery bonuses drop to nothing.
Weight training zones
On top of gravity, the weights you wear put you in a training zone based on how much weight you carry compared with an ideal for your level: None, Comfortable, Ideal, Pushing Hard or Overloaded. The zone sets a separate TP multiplier (up to ×2.5) and, past the Ideal zone, a stat penalty of up to 60% that also slows your movement and attacks. The weight penalty is added to the gravity stat reduction, and the total is still capped at 90%. See Weights for the full table.
The zone also multiplies the stamina cost of your attacks and the ki, health and stamina drain of your active forms: ×1.15 Comfortable, ×1.3 Ideal, ×1.5 Pushing Hard, ×2.0 Overloaded.
Gravity Room upgrades
Bulma's sidequests Gravity Room Mk.II and Gravity Room Mk.III unlock dampeners that reduce the weight stat penalty while you stand inside an active Gravity Device's room:
- Mk.II removes up to 50% of the weight penalty.
- Mk.III replaces Mk.II and removes up to 80%.
The relief fades as you get stronger, and Mk.III fades more slowly than Mk.II.
Checking your gravity
The Gravity row of the Stats menu (V) shows everything live: environmental and net gravity, stat penalty, TP bonus, your weight (raw and effective), your ideal weight, your training zone and the weight-training multiplier. Inside an active Gravity Device's room, a visual effect also covers the screen. It grows with the device's gravity and reaches full intensity at 60×.
