Races
DragonMineZ has seven playable races: Human, Saiyan, Namekian, Frost Demon, Bio-Android, Majin and Glind. Each race has its own racial skill, appearance options and transformation lines. Humans can later become Androids, a sub-race with its own forms and racial skill. You pick your race when you create your character, and it shapes how you fight for the rest of the game.
Choosing a race
The first screen of character creation is a carousel with every race loaded on the server: the seven default races plus any custom race added by the server or an add-on. Use the arrows under the model to browse them; each race has its own panorama background.
- The left side shows the race description.
- The right panel lists its racial skills with your server's live values.
- Press Select to move on to customization with that race. Switching race resets your appearance to that race's defaults.
Your race is permanent. The Re-Customize Character wish of Shenron and Porunga lets you change your appearance and class, but not your race. The only change of race in the game is a Human's upgrade into an Android (see below).

Racial skills
Every race has a racial skill: a set of signature passives and, for some races, an ability you use with the action key. The race-selection screen and the Skills menu list each part of it with your server's live values; the numbers on this wiki are the defaults.
Racial skills that need input are used by selecting the racial skill in the X (utility) menu and pressing or holding the action key (G). The permanent racial bonuses (Zenkai, Assimilation, Absorption) can be reset with the Reset Passive wish or with /dmzracial reset [targets].
Transformations
Each race has its own transformations, organized into form groups. You unlock them one after another with Training Points, mastery and progress in the story. Every race page lists its complete set of forms with their costs, story requisites, multipliers and upkeep. On top of race forms, every race can learn the stack forms Kaioken and Ultimate.
The Android upgrade
Humans, and by default only Humans, can be converted into Androids by Dr. Gero in his laboratory. Androids are a sub-race of the Human race:
- The change is permanent: an Android can never go back to being a normal Human.
- Androids lose the Human Super and Legendary forms and get the Android forms line instead (Android Base, Super Android, Fused Android).
- Blood-Fueled Ki is replaced by Android Core and Absorption Barrier; Fast Learner and Adrenaline are kept.
- Androids can't use the Fusion Dance, and the upgrade isn't possible while you are fused.
Legendary forms
Every race has a Legendary form line with 3 levels (Glinds get two alternative forms on the third level). Several races show this group under their own name in game:
| Race | Group in game | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Human | Legendary | Shiyoken | Shin Shiyoken | Chou Shiyoken |
| Saiyan | Mutant (the Legendary Super Saiyan line) | Ikari | SSJ Hybrid | SSJ Full Power |
| Namekian | Legendary | Evil Namek | Evil Giant Namek | Buffed Namek |
| Frost Demon | Artificial | Mecha | Metal | Metal-Core |
| Bio-Android | Bio-Corruption | Xeno | Xeno Full Power | Xeno Max |
| Majin | Demon | Innocence Demon | Giant Innocence Demon | Super Demon |
| Glind | Legendary | Transcended | Dark King | Time Power: Dark King, Time Power: Realm of Light |
By default every level of this line costs -1 TP, which means it can't be bought with Training Points. There are two ways to use these forms:
- Earn them in the story. Three quests of the Movies Saga grant the Legendary Forms skill one level at a time.
- Borrow them as a Mutant. A random player can become a Mutant through the server's Mutant lottery. Mutants fill a rage meter in combat; while it is full or active they can use Legendary forms they don't own yet, at reduced power.
Androids lose their Legendary line along with the Super forms. Both methods are explained in Transformations. Server owners can also give the three levels real TP costs in the race's character.json.
Customizing races (server owners)
character.jsonEach race has its own folder, config/dragonminez/races/<race>/. In its character.json you can edit:
- Gender (
hasGender). By default only Human, Saiyan, Majin and Glind use gender. - Model: the vanilla player skin (
useVanillaSkin), a custom model, layering, model scaling, head bones and which body types use slim arms (slimBodyTypes). - Default appearance: body type, hair type, eyes, nose, mouth and tattoo, all colors (three body colors, hair, both eyes, aura) and the aura type (2D
auraType, 3DauraType3Dand itsaura3DStyle). - Racial skill assignment and the form skill TP costs (Super, God, Legendary and Android forms).
Players pick from the appearance options in the character-creation screen; how many body types, eyes and other options a race offers depends on how many textures exist for it. Class stat scalings live separately in the race's stats.json. The racial skills themselves are tuned in the racialSkills section of general-server.json (see Racial Skills).
