This page lists DragonMineZ's default key bindings and key combinations. Every key can be changed in Minecraft's Options → Controls, under the DragonMine Z category (the Rhythm minigame lanes are in DragonMine Z Minigames).
Menus
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| V | Open the Character Menu (Stats, Party, Skills, Quests, Minigames and Config; see Menus). Before you have created a character it opens character creation. |
| X (hold) | Open the Utility Menu (radial wheel: transform, stack forms, movement and actions). Releasing the key closes it. |
| H | Instant Transmission (see below), or the Space Pod menu while riding a Space Pod. |
| Unbound | Open Party / Skills / Quests / Minigames / Config Tab: jump straight to that tab of the Character Menu. Bind them yourself if you want shortcuts; they also switch tabs while the menu is open. |
Combat and actions
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| C (hold) | Charge Ki: raises your Power Release (up to your release limit). Double-tap C to jump straight to your maximum release, paying 1% of your max Ki per 5% of release gained. |
| Keep holding C at full Ki | Fills the Ki Surge bar; when it is full you unleash a Ki Surge (see Combat). Letting go of C empties the bar. |
| Alt + C (hold) | Lower Release: lowers your Power Release. |
| G (hold) | Action key: charges the action selected in the Utility Menu (transform, stack form, racial skill, fusion…). Double-tap G to transform instantly. |
| Unbound | Instant Transform: transform instantly with one key press. |
| Alt + G | Descend (Lower Form): drop one form or stack-form tier. With a racial skill selected it triggers the racial secondary action instead (for example dismissing a Cell Jr. or a Bio-Android's Self-Destruct). |
| Alt + Right Mouse | Tap to fire a basic ki blast (your shots alternate hands). Hold for 0.3 seconds to fire a Ki Volley of 6 ki blasts (30-second cooldown). See Combat. |
| Ctrl + Alt + Right Mouse (hold) | Ki Transfer: give your Ki to the player you are looking at (within 8 blocks) for as long as you hold the keys. Ctrl and Alt are fixed here and don't follow the Second Function key. See Ki Transfer. |
| R | Dash (and double dash). |
| Z | Lock on to a target. |
| Right Mouse | Block (with empty hands). Starting a block right before a hit lands is a parry (see Combat). |
| Shift (mash) | Break free from Gum Bind when a Majin wraps you in gum: every press of the Sneak key takes 0.25 seconds off the bind (see Evasion Techniques). |
Movement and sensing
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| F | Toggle flight on or off. It needs the Fly and Ki Control skills, and at least 5% Power Release to take off. |
| Alt + F | Switch flight mode between Combat Fly and Search Fly. The flight mode, the flight speed cap and the flight Mode Lock are also in the Utility Menu under Movement → Fly (see Menus). |
| F4 | Ki Sense: cycle the Ki Sense display through Combat mode, Search mode and off (needs the Ki Sense skill). While you wear a scouter it toggles the scouter readout instead. |
Vehicles
While you ride a vehicle, these keys drive it. You can't fire techniques while riding, and flight turns off when you get on.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Drive (cars can't strafe). |
| Space | Ascend. Double-tap it to take off with Frieza's Capsule. |
| Alt | Descend (the Second Function key). |
| Ctrl | Sprint: go faster with vehicles that have a sprint speed. |
| R | Boost (Flying Nimbus and Black Nimbus only). |
| Alt + 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | Move to seat 1–4 (the technique slot 1–4 keys). Seat 1 drives. |
Instant Transmission
| Use | Action |
|---|---|
| Tap H | Teleport to your locked-on target. |
| Hold H (half a second) | Open the Instant Transmission menu to pick a destination (needs Instant Transmission level 5 or higher). |
See Skills for the Instant Transmission skill.
Techniques
Save techniques to slots in the Skills tab and fire them with a modifier plus a number. While you hold a bar's modifier, its four slots appear on the technique hotbar.
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| Alt + 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | Fire technique slots 1–4 (Bar 1). |
| Ctrl + 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | Fire technique slots 5–8 (Bar 2). |
Ki attacks charge while you hold the slot key and fire when you release it; strike attacks and evasion techniques activate as soon as you press it. See Techniques.
While the cinematic camera of a strike attack plays, you can't look around with the mouse or toggle lock-on (see Strike Attacks).
Minigames
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| A / S / K / L | Rhythm minigame lanes 1–4 (they only work inside the minigame, so they don't clash with movement). The arrow keys ← ↓ ↑ → also play lanes 1–4. Each lane shows its key as printed on your keyboard layout. In the song list, ↑ / ↓ browse songs and ← / → change the difficulty. |
| A–Z, 0–9 | Shadow Boxing minigame: type the combo shown on screen. Letters follow your keyboard layout (AZERTY, QWERTZ…): press the key that has that letter printed on it. |
| Space | Precision minigame: click at the mouse position. |
| Enter / Space | Start a minigame from its rules panel. |
| Esc | Pause a running minigame (Resume or Finish from the pause panel). |
See Training Minigames for the minigames themselves.
Controls in editors and dialogues
The hair editor, the skin pixel editor and the HUD Editor have their own mouse and keyboard controls: see Character Customization and HUD. NPC dialogues can be driven with the arrow keys, Enter and the number keys: see Menus.
