Senses the ki of living beings around you and sets your lock-on range for homing ki attacks.

Ki Sense lets you sense the ki of the living beings around you. In Combat mode it shows a panel with the health and Battle Power of every being you can see; in Search mode it reveals everyone nearby through walls. It also decides how far your lock-on reaches for homing ki attacks.

Learning it

Gohan, Krillin (both Good alignment) and Frieza (Evil alignment) teach Ki Sense. Level 1 costs 300 TP and each level costs 300 TP more than the previous one, up to 3,000 TP for level 10.

Modes

Press F4 to cycle through Combat mode, Search mode and off. While you wear a scouter, F4 toggles the scouter readout instead.

Mode Range At level 10 What you see
Combat 10 blocks + 3 per level 40 blocks Every being you can see gets a panel above its head with its health (plus ki and stamina for players), its Battle Power and the damage it takes.
Search 30 blocks + 20 per level 230 blocks The world turns grey and every being shows through walls as an aura: red or orange if it is stronger than you, yellow if it is about as strong, blue if it is weaker or passive. Stronger beings have bigger auras.

The Combat panels are described on the HUD page. With the Ki Sense - Accumulative Damage option on (Config tab of the Character Menu), the damage a target takes is summed up instead of shown as single popups.

A lock-on sound warns you when something stronger than you comes into range, or powers up, out of your sight.

Lock-on range

Ki Sense also sets your lock-on range (Z) for homing ki attacks: 15 blocks + 5 per level, so 65 blocks at level 10. While you are locked on, homing attacks follow your target. See Ki Attacks.

Androids

Androids sense 10 blocks further, don't need line of sight in Combat mode, and get +25 blocks of lock-on range.

Hiding from Ki Sense

  • At 0% Power Release you are hidden from Ki Sense.
  • A Glind's Divine Ki hides them from Ki Sense, Scouters and Instant Transmission, unless the seeker is a Glind too, has unlocked a God Form, is in a God form or is under Kami's Blessing. Lock-on still works on them.
  • Players in a God form, such as the Super Saiyan God, are hidden from Ki Sense unless you have godly ki yourself: the God Form skill, a God form of your own or a Glind's Divine Ki.
  • The Anti-Ki Cloaking Device, the reward of Bulma's Cloaking Device sidequest, hides your Battle Power: scouters and Ki Sense can't read you.
