Entities Config
config/dragonminez/entities.json sets the base stats of DMZ creatures and enemies, and the default stat jump when a saga enemy transforms into its next form. Like the other server configs, the server sends it to every client.
For the creatures themselves, see the Bestiary.
Keys
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
configVersion |
A version string, for example "2.2.0" |
Version stamp used for config upgrades. Do not change it (see How to JSON). |
defaultEntityStats |
See below | Base stats per entity id (an object). |
transformDefaults |
See below | Default multipliers and trigger used when a saga enemy transforms (an object). |
Entity base stats
defaultEntityStats maps an entity registry id (for example "dragonminez:bandit") to a stat object:
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
health |
20 |
Max health. The default applies when the field is missing. |
meleeDamage |
1 |
Melee attack damage. The default applies when the field is missing. |
kiDamage |
1 |
Ki blast damage (only for entities that have a ki blast damage attribute). The default applies when the field is missing. |
Values below 1 are raised to 1.
The stats are applied once, when the entity first spawns. Entities that were already in the world keep the stats they spawned with. Entities spawned for a quest use the stats written in the quest instead (see Custom Quests), scaled by the difficulty multipliers in General Server Config (easyMode* / hardMode*); naturally spawned entities are not scaled by difficulty.

Spawn rates
entities.json only sets stats. Where and how often creatures spawn naturally is defined by the Forge biome modifiers in data/dragonminez/forge/biome_modifier/ (spawn weights and group sizes per biome), which a datapack can override.
Bandits, the Red Ribbon Army, Sabertooth Tigers, Frieza's Soldiers and Mini Buus use their own spawn category, dragonminez:wild_enemy, with its own cap. Structures can define spawns for it in their spawn_overrides, as the Red Ribbon Tower does. The spawn rules, weights and biomes of each creature are listed in the Bestiary.
Saga enemy transformations
Saga enemies that have a next form (for example Frieza) transform when their health drops low enough. The transformDefaults values are used unless the quest's kill objective sets its own.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
healthMultiplier |
1.5 |
The new form's max health is the previous form's max health × this value (minimum 0.1).
|
meleeMultiplier |
1.5 |
Multiplier on the previous form's melee damage (minimum 0.1).
|
kiMultiplier |
1.5 |
Multiplier on the previous form's ki blast damage (minimum 0.1).
|
triggerHealthPercent |
0.5 |
Fraction of max health (0–1) at which the enemy transforms.

hardModeSettings (hpMultiplier, damageMultiplier) no longer exists. Difficulty scaling is configured in General Server Config with easyModeHPMultiplier, easyModeDamageMultiplier, hardModeHPMultiplier and hardModeDamageMultiplier.
Reload and validate
- Edit
config/dragonminez/entities.json. - Validate the JSON syntax.
- Run
/dmzreload config. New values apply to entities spawned afterwards.
