Gamerules

From DragonMineZ Wiki

DragonMineZ adds a few vanilla-style gamerules, set with /gamerule <name> <value>. They control ki-griefing (whether ki attacks are allowed to damage and destroy the world) and building inside arena structures, so server owners can protect terrain and builds.

Gamerule list

Gamerule Default What it does
allowKiGriefingPlayers true Whether ki attacks fired by players can break or damage blocks. Set it to false to stop players blowing up terrain.
allowKiGriefingMobs true Whether ki attacks fired by mobs and NPCs (for example saga enemies) can break or damage blocks.
allowKiGriefingMasterStructures false Whether ki-griefing is allowed inside master structures. It is off by default, so master homes (Goku's House and the rest) are protected even when the other two rules are on.
allowBuildingInArenaStructures false Whether players can place and break blocks inside arena structures (Fortuneteller Baba's Palace, the Cell Games Arena and the Otherworld tournament grounds). Off by default.

Ki-griefing

How the rules combine: a ki blast can break a block only if the matching player or mob rule is true and, if the spot is inside a protected structure, allowKiGriefingMasterStructures is also true.

The structures protected by allowKiGriefingMasterStructures are the ones in the structure tag dragonminez:ki_griefing_protected:

The Otherworld tournament grounds and the Otherworld landmarks (King Yemma's palace, Snake Way and King Kai's Planet) count as protected structures too. Datapacks can add their own structures to the tag.

Building in arena structures

While allowBuildingInArenaStructures is false, players in Survival or Adventure mode can't place or break blocks inside the structures of the tag dragonminez:build_protected (Fortuneteller Baba's Palace and the Cell Games Arena) or inside the Otherworld tournament grounds. They get the message "This place is protected. You can't build here.". Explosions don't destroy blocks there either, and mobs can't grief them. Creative and Spectator players are not affected.

WorldGuard

For finer, region-based control, DMZ also integrates with WorldGuard if it is installed. It registers two region flags:

Flag Type Effect
ki-griefing State (allow or deny, default allow) Whether ki attacks can break blocks in that region. Checked after the gamerules above.
dmz-gravity Number Base gravity inside that region (used when it is higher than the dimension's gravity); see Gravity Config.
