Raids are wave-based battles against an invading army. You trigger one by killing a marked scout at a raid site; after a short omen the army arrives in waves at your position, ending with its bosses. Survive every wave and everyone still fighting is rewarded; fall (or leave) and the raid is lost.
The raids
| Raid | World | Raid site | Scout (health / melee / ki) | Rewards | Defeat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red Ribbon Army Assault | Earth | Red Ribbon base | 150 / 8 / 0 | 5,700 TP, Hero of the Village and Hero of the World (10 min), 8 Golden Carrots, 2 Senzu Beans, 1 Red Capsule, 1 Blue Capsule | −5 alignment |
| Saiyan Assault | Earth | Saiyan Crater | 500 / 12 / 10 | 10,000 TP, Hero of the Village and Hero of the World (10 min), 8 Golden Carrots, 2 Senzu Beans, 1 Green Scouter | −10 alignment |
| Frieza's Invasion | Namek | Namekian Ruins | 400 / 18 / 12 | 30,000 TP, Hero of the Village and Hero of the World II (10 min), 16 Golden Carrots, 3 Senzu Beans, 1 Blaster Cannon | −20 alignment |
| Gomah's Army | Demon Realm | Gomah Camp | 10,000 / 900 / 800 | 350,000 TP, Hero of the Village and Hero of the World III (10 min), 16 Golden Carrots, 4 Medi-Bugs (Ant) | −30 alignment |
All four raids have 5 waves. Hero of the World is a DMZ effect that boosts the TP you earn (see Effects).
How a raid plays out
- Find a raid site. Red Ribbon bases, Saiyan Craters, Namekian Ruins and Gomah Camps generate as structures (see Structures). When you come within 80 blocks of one, you get a chat warning, for example "Your scouter picks up a Saiyan pod that just crashed nearby...". Each site has one scout, shown with a supervillain aura; at a Red Ribbon base the scout is the base's commander, guarded by a garrison of soldiers and robots. A site is spent once its scout dies or disappears.
- Kill the scout. The player who kills it (or the nearest player, if nobody gets the credit) receives the Hunted effect and the preparation music starts. Hunted lasts the raid's preparation time (60 seconds by default). If the effect is removed early, for example by drinking milk, the raid is called off.
- The raid starts where you stand when Hunted runs out. The participants are you plus every member of your party (see Commands). Only one raid can run in the same area at a time.
- Waves. Enemies appear around the raid centre, 6–16 blocks out: story fighters drop in from above, while mobs that only walk, such as the Red Ribbon soldiers and robots, spawn on the ground. A boss bar shows "Raid — Wave X/Y — N left"; it turns purple on boss waves. Raid mobs glow so they're easy to find: minions in purple, bosses in red. In waves with bosses, the bosses stay dormant until their escort is dead, but attacking one wakes it up early. There's a short pause between waves (5 seconds by default).
- Victory. When the last wave is cleared, every participant still fighting gets the rewards, the victory music, fireworks and the Hero of the World effect.
- Defeat. A participant who dies, logs out, changes dimension or switches to spectator is out. Walking farther than 80 blocks (by default) from the raid centre gives you a 15-second countdown to come back. When no participant is left, the raid is lost: the remaining mobs vanish and every participant sees YOU LOST! and loses alignment (see the table above and Alignment).
Difficulty
Raid mobs' health and damage are multiplied by the story difficulty of the player who started the raid, using the Easy and Hard health and damage multipliers of the server (see Sagas for the difficulties).
gameplayCommands
All /dmzraid subcommands require operator permission level 2.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/dmzraid start [type] |
Starts a raid of that type at your position: red_ribbon_assault, saiyan_assault (the default), frieza_invasion, gomah_assault or an extra raid. Fails if a raid is already running nearby.
|
/dmzraid stop |
Cancels the nearest raid within 128 blocks (no defeat penalty). |
/dmzraid info |
Shows the nearest raid's id, status, wave, participant count and centre. |
Configuration
Raids are defined in JSON files under config/dragonminez/raids/, so server owners can tune the shipped raids or add their own. Each raid is one file named after its id: red_ribbon_assault.json, saiyan_assault.json, frieza_invasion.json and gomah_assault.json are generated with their defaults and version-updated like the other config files. Any other .json file in the folder is loaded as an extra raid with the file name as its id; files whose name starts with old_ are ignored. Reload with /dmzreload config.
Top-level fields
| Field | Type | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
configVersion |
String | — | Managed by DMZ. |
enabled |
Boolean | true |
false removes the raid.
|
displayName |
String | raid.dragonminez.<id> |
Translation key shown on the boss bar. |
activationRadius |
Number | 48 |
No second raid can start within this distance of a running one; also the range used to credit a scout kill to the nearest player. |
leashDistance |
Number | 80 |
How far participants can go from the raid centre before the 15-second countdown. |
interWaveDelaySeconds |
Integer | 5 |
Pause between waves. |
music |
Object | — | preparation (sound event played during the omen) and battle (played during the waves; default dragonminez:raid_ost_1).
|
trigger |
Object | — | How the raid is started (see below). A raid without a trigger can only be started with /dmzraid start.
|
waves |
List | — | The waves, in order. A raid with no waves is skipped. |
rewards |
Object | — | trainingPoints, effects (id, seconds, amplifier) and items (id, count), given to every participant still fighting at the end.
|
defeat |
Object | — | title and subtitle (translation keys) and alignment (signed alignment change applied to every participant).
|
Trigger
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
entityId |
String | The scout: an entity id, or an entity tag with # (for example #dragonminez:frieza_soldiers).
|
dimension |
String | Dimension the trigger works in. |
spawnChance |
Number (0–1) | Chance that a naturally spawned mob matching entityId in that dimension is marked as a raid scout. 0 in all shipped raids, which rely on their raid sites instead.
|
supervillain |
Boolean | Show the scout with the supervillain aura (default true).
|
preparationSeconds |
Integer | Length of the omen (default 60).
|
announceMessage, omenMessage, startMessage |
String | Translation keys for the raid-site warning, the omen and the start of the raid. |
health, meleeDamage, kiDamage, aiTier |
Number | Stats of the scout placed at a raid site. |
The structure raid sites (Red Ribbon base, Saiyan Crater, Namekian Ruins and Gomah Camp) are tied to the four shipped raids. An extra raid can use spawnChance or /dmzraid start.
Waves
Each wave is { "spawns": [ ... ] }, and each spawn entry describes one group:
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
entityId |
String | Entity id, or #tag to pick a random member of an entity tag for each mob.
|
count |
Integer | How many to spawn (default 1).
|
health, meleeDamage, kiDamage |
Number | Absolute stats, before the difficulty multiplier. |
aiTier |
Integer | 1 Novice, 2 Smart, 3 Elite, 4 Expert.
|
textureVariant |
Integer | Texture variant, for mobs that have several. |
dormantUntilEscortDead |
Boolean | Boss behaviour: the mob waits until the rest of the wave is dead. |
canTransform |
Boolean | Whether the mob may transform (default true).
|
transformHealth, transformMeleeDamage, transformKiDamage |
Number | Stats of the transformed form. |
Example: the first two waves of Frieza's Invasion.
