- Ki and strike attacks. Both rely on channeling ki, so you can't charge or use them without Ki Control. See Ki Attacks and Strike Attacks.
- Evasion techniques. Solar Flare, Afterimage and the rest also need Ki Control. See Evasion Techniques.
- Flight. Taking off needs both the Fly skill and Ki Control (and at least 5% Power Release). Without it you get the message "You need the Ki Control skill to do that."
- Ki actions. With Ki Control, the Actions → Ki Actions entry of the Utility Menu (X) offers the Aura and Friendly Fist toggles.
- Shadow Dummy. Manifesting a Shadow Dummy made of your own ki needs Ki Control, Ki Manipulation level 5 and at least one Shadow Dummy killed. See Training Minigames.
