Only members in the same dimension and within 50 blocks count, and hits smaller than 1% of the target's max health are ignored. The redirected share is reduced by your own defense, never takes you below 1 health (whatever you can't take stays on your ally) and doesn't flash your screen. Your own hits never heal you or get redirected to you.
