Scouters are head-worn devices that read the Battle Power of the entity you look at and point towards the strongest entity nearby. There are four colors, Red, Blue, Green and Purple, which work the same way.

Using a scouter

  • Wear the scouter in the Head Tech Curios slot. It also works in the cosmetic slot.
  • It reads the Battle Power of the entity you aim at within 20 blocks, and an arrow points towards the strongest entity within 50 blocks.
  • Press the Ki Sense key (F4 by default) to toggle the readout (see Controls).
  • The scouter beeps when you switch it on or off, when a new strongest signal shows up and when it locks onto the entity you aim at.
  • The readout is a HUD element you can move and mirror in the HUD editor (it was re-centered in version 2.2). It isn't available in the Compact HUD style (see HUD).

Bulma's upgrades

  • Bulma's Scouter Calibration sidequest shows enemies' Battle Power in quest enemy previews. The scouter itself shows the numbers without it.
  • Her Bio-Scan Module sidequest adds extra information about the target.

Overloading

Reading a Battle Power above 150,000,000 damages the scouter. After 15 overloads it breaks.

Who a scouter can't read

  • Players wearing the Anti-Ki Cloaking Device.
  • Glind players, whose Divine Ki hides them unless the seeker is a Glind too, has unlocked a God Form, is in a God form or is under Kami's Blessing (see Effects).

Getting a scouter

  • Crafting table: each color uses stained glass panes of that color (recipes below). See Dragon Radar for the parts.
  • The Saiyan Assault raid rewards a Green Scouter.
