Lets you channel ki: required to fly and to use ki, strike and evasion techniques.

Ki Control is the foundation for channeling ki. It is the single most important skill in DragonMineZ: until you learn it you can't fly, and you can't charge or use ki attacks, strike attacks or evasion techniques. It has a single level and almost every master teaches it, so it should be the first thing you buy.

Learning it

Ki Control costs 3,000 TP and has only one level. Almost every master offers it, and it is also part of the fallback list used by any master or quest NPC that has no skill list of its own (Ki Control and Jump).

Master Alignment needed to train
Master Roshi, Krillin, Goku, Gohan, King Kai, Old Kai Good (61 or higher)
Piccolo, Yamcha, Trunks, Vegeta, Fortuneteller Baba None
Cell, Frieza Evil (40 or lower)

What it unlocks

  • Ki and strike attacks. Both rely on channeling ki, so you can't charge or use them without Ki Control. See Ki Attacks and Strike Attacks.
  • Evasion techniques. Solar Flare, Afterimage and the rest also need Ki Control. See Evasion Techniques.
  • Flight. Taking off needs both the Fly skill and Ki Control (and at least 5% Power Release). Without it you get the message "You need the Ki Control skill to do that."
  • Ki actions. With Ki Control, the Actions → Ki Actions entry of the Utility Menu (X) offers the Aura and Friendly Fist toggles.
  • Shadow Dummy. Manifesting a Shadow Dummy made of your own ki needs Ki Control, Ki Manipulation level 5 and at least one Shadow Dummy killed. See Training Minigames.

Requirements for techniques

Ki Control is only one of the conditions for using a technique. You also need at least 5% Power Release and an empty main hand (the Shining Sword Attack, which needs the Brave Sword in hand, is the exception). See Techniques.

Notes

  • The Ki Control training minigame run by Krillin is a different thing: it is a minigame that pays Training Points, not this skill. See Training Minigames.
  • Admins can grant skills with /dmzskill (see Commands).
