Armor
DragonMineZ adds dozens of character-themed armor sets: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Bardock, Trunks, the Androids, the DBOnline clans and many more. They aren't made at a vanilla crafting table. Crafting a set takes two steps:
- Paint the set's armor pattern (its blueprint) at a Pattern Station.
- Assemble each piece at Dr. Kikono's Station, which runs on Star Energy.
DMZ armor is real protective gear: it adds to the defense you get from your Resistance stat. Two special sets, The Strongest Armor and the Invincible Armor, are dragon wishes instead.
What you need
| Thing | Role |
|---|---|
| Pattern Station (block) | A two-block-tall workbench where you paint armor patterns. |
| Blank Pattern (Z) / Blank Pattern (Super) | The blank blueprints you paint at the Pattern Station. |
| Dr. Kikono's Station (block) | The armor-crafting machine. Holds up to 2,000 Star Energy. |
| Fuel Generator (block) | Burns fuel to produce Star Energy (holds up to 1,000). |
| Energy Cable (block) | Carries energy from the generator to the station. |
| Kikono materials | Kikono Cloth and Kikono String, made from Kikono Shards mined on Namek (see Kikono Materials). |
| Armor Crafting Kit | Needed to craft Kikono String, Kikono Cloth and the Pattern Station. It isn't consumed. |
| Template | A vanilla iron armor piece of the matching slot (Iron Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings or Boots), used as the base. |
Crafting the equipment
All of these are made at a normal crafting table.
| Result | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Armor Crafting Kit | |
| Kikono String ×2 | |
| Kikono Cloth | |
| Pattern Station | |
| Blank Pattern (Z) | |
| Blank Pattern (Super) | |
| Dr. Kikono's Station | |
| Fuel Generator | |
| Energy Cable ×4 |
See Dragon Radar for the Radar's Chip and Radar's CPU.
Painting the pattern
Open the Pattern Station to get a 6×6 grid. Each armor pattern is a small piece of pixel art: place the matching blank pattern in its cell of the grid and fill the other cells with dyes (any of the 16 colors) and gold nuggets following the design. When the picture matches, the finished pattern appears in the result slot. Empty cells must stay empty.

- Dragon Ball Z sets use a Blank Pattern (Z) (see Z Armor Sets).
- Dragon Ball Super sets use a Blank Pattern (Super) (see Super Armor Sets).
- With JEI installed, every pattern design can be looked up in its own Pattern Station recipe category.
The Gete Pattern is not painted: Bulma hands it out through her Gete sidequests (see Gete Tech).
Assembling the armor
Star Energy
Dr. Kikono's Station runs on Star Energy, which you generate yourself:
- Place a Fuel Generator and put any furnace fuel in it (coal, charcoal, wood, blaze rods, lava buckets…). It burns fuel just like a furnace, filling its energy buffer.
- Connect the generator to the station with Energy Cables.
- The station draws the energy it needs from the network.
Each armor piece costs 1,000 Star Energy and takes 10 seconds by default. The Gravity Device runs on the same Star Energy network.
Procedure
- Mine Namek Deepslate Kikono Ore on Namek for Kikono Shards, then craft Kikono String and Kikono Cloth.
- Set up a Fuel Generator, Energy Cables and Dr. Kikono's Station, and fuel the generator.
- Open the station and load the pattern of the armor you want, the template (the matching iron armor piece) and the Kikono materials in the shape of that piece.
- With enough Star Energy, the station crafts the piece. Repeat for each piece of the set.
| Piece | Kikono Cloth | Kikono String | Template |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet (only some sets) | 2 | 3 | Iron Helmet |
| Chestplate | 5 | 3 | Iron Chestplate |
| Leggings | 5 | 2 | Iron Leggings |
| Boots | 2 | 2 | Iron Boots |

The station can copy enchantments from the template onto the result. With the matching mods installed, it can also copy Weapon Leveling levels and Apotheosis affixes and sockets. Server owners toggle this in the server config.
craftingThe same station also makes the Gete tools (see Gete Tech).
Defense and resistance
Every crafted set uses the Kikono armor material:
| Piece | Armor points |
|---|---|
| Helmet | 2 |
| Chestplate | 35 |
| Leggings | 26 |
| Boots | 16 |
Each piece also gives 5 toughness and 0.1 knockback resistance, and can be repaired with Kikono Shards.
This stacks on top of your Resistance (RES) stat: DMZ adds 50% of your armor value and 70% of your armor toughness to your Defense. RES is your character's built-in defense: it drives your damage mitigation, max Stamina and Poise (see Stats and Attributes). A well-geared fighter takes noticeably less damage and is harder to stagger. See Combat for how mitigation and poise work in fights, and Enchantments for DMZ's armor enchantments.
Battle damage
A few sets, Goku's Turtle Hermit GI, Great Saiyaman and Vegeta's Saiyan armor, switch to a torn, battle-damaged look once they drop below half durability. Resource packs can add a damaged look to any set by shipping textures/armor/<set>_damaged_layer1.png and _damaged_layer2.png.
Wish armor
The Strongest Armor and the Invincible Armor aren't crafted: they are dragon wishes (see Dragons and Wishes).
