Red Ribbon Army Assault
red_ribbon_assaultThe Red Ribbon Army Assault is a raid of Earth and the easiest of the four raids. Kill the commander of a Red Ribbon base and General Red sends the whole Red Ribbon Army after you: five waves of soldiers and robots, led by Colonel Silver, then Sergeant Metallic and Ninja Murasaki, and finally General Blue and General Black's Robot.
Finding a Red Ribbon base
Red Ribbon bases are large army bases (84 × 146 blocks, 23 blocks high) found in the Plains, Sunflower Plains and Savanna biomes of the Overworld. They are spread out (at most one in every 32 × 32 chunk area, at least 16 chunks apart) and kept at least 8 chunks away from villages, and they only appear in newly generated chunks. Use /dmzlocate red_ribbon_base to find the nearest one; no villager sells a map to them. Bases have no build or ki protection. They are not the Red Ribbon Tower, a separate outpost that keeps spawning soldiers. See Structures.
The garrison
When you come within 80 blocks of a base, its garrison appears and you get a warning: "You spot a Red Ribbon Army base nearby... its commander must be inside the headquarters.". The garrison is 16 Red Ribbon's Soldiers and 3 Red Ribbon Robots posted around the base, plus the Red Ribbon Commander inside the headquarters: a named Red Ribbon's Soldier with 150 health and 8 melee damage. All of them show the purple supervillain tint and outline and don't despawn. Each guard stays within 12 blocks of its post, and the commander within 10 blocks of his. The garrison doesn't appear in Peaceful.
Starting the raid
Kill the commander. The player who kills him (or the nearest player within 48 blocks, if nobody gets the credit) receives the Hunted effect for 60 seconds, and the alarm goes off: "The alarm is blaring! The whole Red Ribbon Army is mobilizing against you!". When Hunted runs out, the raid starts where you stand and General Red gives the order: "Send every soldier we have! Nobody humiliates the Red Ribbon Army!". Drinking milk to remove Hunted calls the raid off. Each base can start only one raid: once its commander is dead, the base is spent. The full flow is explained on Raids.
Waves
Stats are the defaults, before the story difficulty multiplier of the player who started the raid. The soldiers and robots spawn on the ground around you and fight like the Red Ribbon Army mobs outside raids, so the AI tiers don't apply to them; each robot is one of the three robot models, drawn at random. The bosses drop in from above and stay dormant until the soldiers and robots of their wave are dead.
| Wave | Enemies | Health / melee / ki | AI tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 8 Red Ribbon's Soldiers | 60 / 6 / 0 | — |
| 2 | 10 Red Ribbon's Soldiers | 70 / 7 / 0 | — |
| 3 Red Ribbon Robots | 150 / 10 / 0 | — | |
| 3 | 10 Red Ribbon's Soldiers | 80 / 8 / 0 | — |
| Colonel Silver (boss) | 560 / 26 / 10 | Smart | |
| 4 | 12 Red Ribbon's Soldiers | 90 / 9 / 0 | — |
| 3 Red Ribbon Robots | 170 / 12 / 0 | — | |
| Sergeant Metallic (boss) | 740 / 36 / 0 | Smart | |
| Ninja Murasaki (boss) | 640 / 31 / 12 | Smart | |
| 5 | 12 Red Ribbon's Soldiers | 100 / 10 / 0 | — |
| General Blue (boss) | 820 / 38 / 20 | Smart | |
| General Black's Robot (boss) | 1,100 / 54 / 45 | Elite |
Bosses
None of the bosses can fly. Ninja Murasaki carries a katana and steps out of the way of attacks every so often; after landing three hits he runs away from you for 3 seconds. Sergeant Metallic is a big robot, 1.4 times the normal size, and General Blue attacks twice as fast as a normal fighter. General Black's Robot is the strongest enemy of the raid and the only one on the Elite AI tier (see enemy AI tiers).
Rewards
Every participant still fighting when the last wave is cleared gets:
- 5,700 TP
- Hero of the Village and Hero of the World for 10 minutes (see Effects)
- 8 Golden Carrots, 2 Senzu Beans, 1 Red Capsule (STR) and 1 Blue Capsule (ENE)
Defeat
If every participant falls or leaves, the raid is lost: the remaining soldiers vanish, everyone sees "You couldn't stop the Red Ribbon Army..." and loses 5 alignment (see Alignment).
Configuration
The raid's trigger, waves and rewards are defined in config/dragonminez/raids/red_ribbon_assault.json; the fields are explained on Raids. Operators can start the raid anywhere with /dmzraid start red_ribbon_assault (see Commands).
