Side quests are optional quests that run alongside the sagas. DragonMineZ ships 133 of them: errands for the masters, training challenges, trips to other worlds, fights against movie villains, favours for Chiaotzu and Mr. Satan at the World Martial Arts Tournament, and the Capsule Corp gadgets and vehicle parts Bulma builds for you. Most of them unlock as the story moves forward, and they reward Attributes and items.
How side quests work
Open the Story menu and switch to the Side tab of the quest tree. Side quests are sorted into categories (General, Story, Training, Exploration, Combat, Collection and Capsule Corp), and each one shows whether it is Locked, Available or In Progress.
- Starting and claiming: you can accept a side quest and claim its rewards from the quest tree or by talking to its NPC. The tables below show who gives each quest; quests without a giver only live in the quest tree.
- Unlocking: most side quests open after a given saga quest, after another side quest or at a minimum level. Some can only be started while you meet an extra condition, such as an alignment range or standing in a certain dimension, biome or structure. The Requirements column lists both.
- Objectives: a numbered list must be done in order; a bulleted list marked In any order can be done in any order.
- Enemies spawned by the quest only count when they come from that quest. Their health is listed next to the objective.
- Rewards: Attributes are split between Attribute Points and TP that keep their value however expensive your stats get (see Stats and Attributes).
Playing in a party
Every default side quest scales with your party: item and kill counts go up for each extra member who takes the quest with you, and quest enemies get more health and damage. Starting a side quest brings in the party members near you who can take it, everyone keeps their own progress and every party member claims their own rewards (see Sagas). The multipliers are server settings (see Custom Quests).
Repeatable side quests
Medi-Bug Market, from Bulma, can be repeated once an hour (real time). Every other default side quest can only be done once per character.
gameplayServers can turn side quests off, stop the default files from being generated or add their own side quests: see Custom Quests.
